My family decided to dine at Restoran E Soo Yong Tau Foo instead of Chan Chan, where both located at Bandar Manjalara.

So the flow of dishes for that dinner:

Marmite Chicken

Well, this dish is said to be 'tasty' if the marmite is thick enough, not 'watery'. But sad case, it is a failure as I found that the sauce is slightly too sweet and diluted.

The next dish is Braised Pork in Cider Vinegar Sauce/Braised Pork Trotter. We go for a small size as some of us are not keen in this dish. I didn't taste it so I reserved from making any comments.

To balanced out of dinner, we have Stir Fried Lettuce The size of this is medium as the boss recommended. Overall this vegetable is just average.

For Yong Tau Foo, the soup is more to MSG flavouring rather than rich anchovies stock soup. I need to highlight the 'awful' Fish Ball, when it served the fish ball looks to disintegrate and looks not appealing. The fish paste is overcooked and too soft. Highly not recommended this fish ball.

Fried dumplings and fried brinjals

Before we settle the bill, I am quite okay with the dishes. But the decent dining experience ended with nightmare. The bill stated (Braised Pork Trotter) is medium size and not small as we ordered. After few rounds of dispute, the boss came out and told us "If more that 3 persons, we will give you medium although you order small".

This is profiteering tactics as he never asked permission to change to medium. And he further said that you can't order small portion if you have 10 persons. Doesn't this mean, he forced and masterminded our orders without our knowledge? The difference of small and medium is only RM5, but you obliged to speak forward your recommendation and not change the order as the restaurant wishes.

With the poor service and cheating tactic, this E Soo Yong Tau Foo is in blacklist.

Service: 1/10
Ambience: 6/10

Verdict: Other than the unpleasant service, taste wise still good.
